Pune Gets Good Vibes of The Daily

The famous hip and happening place in Mumbai, The Daily Bar and Kitchen has open it doors. The resto-bar has completed five whole years in Mumbai and is a popular party place on the weekends.

The Daily has imbibed the unique concept of The Daily Mumbai with its monochrome interiors, good news and special attention to well-concocted cocktails. This 4,000-square-foot space is divided into two sections and can seat 120 diners.

The Daily’s core being good news, good food and good cocktails and good vibes. The Daily are the first in Pune to have coffee from Koinonia Coffee Roasters – a very popular and renowned artisanal Indian coffee roaster from Mumbai.

I was invited to try out some of their signature dishes.

SALADS:

Herbed Quinoa Salad: So this is a super delicious salad. Perfect balance of of Sweet and sour with super food Quinoa in it. Its a must have when you visit this place. It has Sweet lime, pomegranate, lollo rosso, fresh dill with a lemon honey dressing.

APPETISERS

Asian Curried Stuffed Potato: This was something unusual dish. But tastewise it was good. Cottage cheese stuffed potatoes cooked in a creamy coconut and coriander root paste.

Champagne Mushroom Fricassee: This was the beauty of the appetisers section. I must say they have the best of wild mushrooms stock. You just can’t stop at one, small and warm filling inside and the outer crunchy filo make this dish perfect to go with Whiskey based drinks. This has wild mushroom sautéed in champagne vinegar with parmesan cheese, wrapped in crunchy filo.

FLATBREADS

Wild Mushroom Fricassee: As I told you that they have the best of Wild mushrooms stock even the topping of this had very similar taste to the Champagne Mushroom Fricassee. This had sautéed mushrooms, topped with porcini dust and house made ricotta cheese and a drizzle of truffle oil.

MAIN COURSE

Cottage Cheese Steak: This a super version of Non veg Steak where in the meat is replaced with the Mashed Potato Patty is served with Ratatouille Vegetables and Cheese Fondue, it was bit sour-iesh for my Palate.

Slow Roasted Roma Tomatoes with Spaghetti: This was a regular affair for me, nothing fancy about this. Spaghetti slow cooked in a buttery roma tomato and fresh basil sauce along with olives.

Desserts:

Ricotta Cheese & Chocolate Chip Filo with A Mixed Berry Compote

Wild-berry and pink Peppercorn Pannacotta

Orange and Pomegranate Pannacotta

All the desserts were good enough but nothing clicked me so much, except the Wild-berry & Pink Peppercorn Pannacotta. It was balanced Dessert.

Mocktails:

Little Foot: One my favourite of the Mocktails and nothing can go wrong with this type of drinks. It had guava juice, Tabasco, lime juice, pepper.

MOLECULAR COCKTAILS: The Daily is known for its Molecular Cocktails, and they are very serious and passionate about this.

Gypsy Queen: It is a Whisky based drink along with, cinnamon, clove, peach, apple wood smoke. Perfect rustic flavours to it with hard after punch to it.

Trend Setter: One of the drama queen type of drink!!! Based with White rum, jasmine, maple, pineapple juice, rosemary and thyme dry ice smoke.

Overall…

It a place where in you can chill with your friends and family while sipping some amazing signature cocktails and lip smacking food.
